Last date to submit the form online for NIFT Entrance Exam 2013 is 14th January, 2013 while you can apply through offline forms only till 10th January, 2013.

Let us begin this article with a small introduction on NIFT.
NIFT – what is it?
Established in 1986, NIFT is a premier Institute of Design, Management & Technology in India. There are fifteen NIFT campuses at Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Raebareli and Shillong.
NIFT offers following 4-year bachelor and 2-year master programmes in the areas of Design, Management and Technology:
Masters: Master of Design, Master of Fashion Management, Master of Fashion Technology.

NIFT Entrance Exam 2013 Eligibility:
Age eligibility:
For B. Des. & B. F Tech: Max. 23 years as on 1. 10. 2012 i.e. DOB on or after 01.10.1989.
For Masters: No maximum age.
Academic Qualification eligibility for B.Des.:
1.0Minimum Class-XII pass from a recognized Central/State Board OR
2.0Pass marks in Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects OR
3.0Pass marks in 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education OR
4.0General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level. OR
5.0Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
Academic Qualification Eligibility for B.F Tech. (Apparel Production):
1.0Minimum Class-XII pass from a recognized Central/State Board with Physics, Chemistry and Maths OR
2.0Pass marks in Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Maths OR
3.0Pass marks in 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education (Engineering background) OR
4.0General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. OR
5.0Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
Academic Qualification Eligibility for M.Des. (Master of Design):
1.0Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University OR
2.0Bachelor in Applied Arts (Fashion Design / Visual Communication / Graphic Design / Industrial Design / Interior Design / Multimedia Design / Product Design / Textiles & Accessories. OR
3.0B.A. (Fine Arts) or B.Sc. (Textiles & Clothing) OR
4.0B.Arch. OR
5.0Design Diploma / Degree from NIFT / NID only
Candidates having relevant industry experience in areas of Fashion / Textile / Communication Design would be preferred.
Academic Qualification Eligibility for M.F.M. (Master of Fashion Management):
3-years Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the association of Indian Universities OR
Diploma in Accessory / Fashion Design / FIT from NIFT only.
For foreign Bachelor’s Degree, not recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, proper certification by a National Body constituted in the country concerned for granting equivalence will have to be produced.
Academic Qualification Eligibility for M.FTech. (Master of Fashion Technology)
B.E. / B.Tech. (Textiles / Apparel / Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Electronics / Computer / Information Technology)
Final year students can also apply for NIFT entrance exam. But however, you need to submit the proof of possessing the eligibility latest by 30th September, 2013 to the Centre Director / Joint Director where you have taken admission.

Offline-Form:
You can obtain the Offline (i.e. Manual) NIFT Exam 2013 Application Form-cum-prospectus from any of the 15 NIFT Centres on payment of Rs. 300/- or by post enclosing a DD of `300/- in favour of “NIFT, New Delhi”.
After filling the NIFT manual form you have to submit a DD /Banker’s Cheque for Rs.1100/- (Rs. 550/= for SC/ST or Person with Disabilities Category) in favour of ‘National Institute of Fashion Technology’ payable at New Delhi, alongwith the NIFT Application Form.
